The last movie you watched... and score out of ten - Part 2

O Gebo e a Sombra ~ Manoel de Oliveira 8.5/10 It totally blows my mind that Manoel de Oliveira still has the ability to make such wonderful films at the youthful age of 103. Seriously, is their another director out there, past the age of 100, still making brilliant art-house films? This film...

What Are You Happy About Today? Part 2

Lunar eclipse and a bottle of wine, best combination ever! Watching the moon shift from burnt sienna to red and back again was incredible.

    Hi.. Is anyone into photography?

This reminds me of an old dairy barn I gutted in Ireland and then transformed into a bed and breakfast. Brilliant photos.

Anti-Vaccine Activists Put Community at Risk

Exactly this. The rubbish heap of discarded scientific theories is a large one, if scientists have shown anything, it's the ability to learn from mistakes and move forward with expanding our knowledge of the Universe and everything in it. Theories evolve. They're as close as we get to truth.

Anti-Vaccine Activists Put Community at Risk

I'd never argue that science is infallible. It's eminently fallible. The discipline is, of course, almost entirely theoretical, based on a sort of progressive theory model. Science acknowledges its mistakes and failed theories, as new experimental methods and equipment become available, it...

Anti-Vaccine Activists Put Community at Risk

Oops, I apparently edited my post a little awkwardly and ended up with the same thing written twice, and now no longer have the ability to edit it further. Oh well.

Anti-Vaccine Activists Put Community at Risk

It seems this comment has elicited quite the adverse reaction here. However, I agree with it to a certain extent. The problem is, the anti-vaccine crowd, the anti-evolution crowd, and other such groups... they constantly proselytize. They preach these things to anyone who will listen, they...

    Hi.. Is anyone into photography?

I adore that second photograph. The lighting makes the sky look so alive and busy (with ominous corners), while the landscape appears utterly barren and desolate aside from one tiny house caught up in the dark shadows of the earth. It's as though that tiny house is the last vestige of humanity...

    Truths-Answer a question/Ask a question.

    A. Dagny or a Love Feast ~ Zurab Karumidze It's a strange amalgamation of history and storytelling, fact and fantasy, and so on. A relating of the last days of Dagny Juel, the Norwegian artist so adored by many around the turn of the century (including Edward Munch and August Strindberg), known...

    The Music Thread

I just found an old King 45' of Charlie Feathers in a Vancouver record shop today. So amazing. Can't Hardly Stand It and Everybody's Lovin' My Baby. It cost a pretty penny. $75. So worth it though. Playing and replaying it tonight after a good washing. Perfect sound. Can't Hardly Stand It

Dude. That beard is so epic. Rocking a blazer of some sort would be wicked with that beard. Something along the lines of the style of the lead singer from the Amplifetes. Blinded by the Moonlight ~ Amplifetes

The last movie you watched... and score out of ten - Part 2

Wojciech Jerzy Has' fascinating last film The Tribulations of Balthazar Kober. As is often the case with Has, the film seems incredibly disjointed at first glance, and there is an appearance of a disregard for a logical undercurrent to the film. Yet, if one pays a little more attention, it...
