Demanding an apology from you Bush voters

Sorry, I can't apologize for using my constitutional right to vote. I do feel regret that the Democrats couldn't get a better, more main-stream candidate. I hope that this time around, they can pick someone who represents my ideas. I also hope they can increase voter turnout (64% overall...

FFAs are amazing... but in too few numbers

Everyone is entitled to their own sexual preferences- of course! My point is to keep an open mind. I've met thin men and dismissed them immediately because of their size, only to find out that they had a gorgeous personality and soul. Because of their sweet personality, they became handsome...

FFAs are amazing... but in too few numbers

There are more FFA's out there than you think. And yes, they come in all shapes and sizes. So I know that some of you like the "petite" ones for the size contrast, but it would be nice to consider the larger FFAs too.

    Mothers, Daughters and Obesity

Aren't the mixed messages confusing? I never know how to respond to those. One of my friends recently complimented me on weight loss and asked me if I was getting skinny so I could "Get a man." As if I couldn't get a man when I was heavier? Good lord, what are these people who love...

    Pride

I'm glad you said that. I don't understand why people think it's OK to be snotty when you are a larger person. They certainly wouldn't say it if you were in a wheelchair and needed some extra space. I would be happy if a larger person sat next to me. It's kind of cozy.

    BBW or SSBBW

I am "me-sized." Telling me that I'm "too skinny" is just as hurtful- and damaging- as telling me that I'm "too fat." Why do we have to have so many labels? Why can't I just be me?

    Fall/Winter Must Haves

I love those dresses! I would like to buy some fall/winter dresses. Does anyone know where to go for some dresses if you are a size 14/16? I have been having a tough time because the normal sizes at the stores only go up to 16 (and they are all picked over), but the plus sizes are too big.

My costume for Paul Delacroixs Ren Faire is finally done

Wear it. I think you'll look fantastic.

I thoroughly despise being around drunk people.

I hate alcoholic partners, too. Maybe some people have the patience to deal with them, and God bless them, but I've had my fill of that scene. .

    Plane Travel

Last time I flew, I ended up sandwiched between 2 very large, muscle-y gentlemen. I didn't mind it a bit. On the way back, I was next to a pretty large woman. No big deal. I just flipped up the armrest and shoved myself towards the aisle a bit, and all was well. Most folks really...

    Knee Pain/Exercise

Knee problems are lousy. Sorry you're having trouble. One thing that I learned is that if it hurts to do weight-bearing exercises, it's better to switch to non-weight-bearing ones for awhile. You're still getting exercise, getting your heart rate up, but you're not blasting the heck out of...

The utter and absolute beauty of pearshaped women. Food for thought and butt.

A lot of women don't fit in the "pear" or "apple" category. Go to the mall or the supermarket and check out the ladies. For instance, you could have a big bust, small waist, and narrow hips. Then you're a "triangle," I suppose.

What Do Say When Challenged About Your Weight?

Once I asked someone if that is how they would treat me if I was Black. Threw them for a loop. Why is it OK to stigmatize different sized people, but not people of color? I also told someone one time that if they kept going, I would call the Police and they would be arrested.

    New Guy

Wow. You look very handsome. I wish you were at my college!

Ok Fat Admires, Get out there and mingle, NOW!

Go to the local library in the evenings or on weekends. I can vouch for this- I've met an awful lot of nice folks in the library. Also, community service activities are a great place to meet people: neighborhood cleanups, Special Olympics, etc. If you're into that sort of thing.

    "size acceptance"

I lost a friend to anorexia. It is a horrible disease. If someone is thin because of struggles with an eating disorder, I hope they get help before it is too late. Even if they're not thin, but still struggling with an eating disorder, they need help.

In shock and awe and sort of angry

I guess they wouldn't like me at that office. My hair is thick and wavy/curly, and the most that I ever do is brush it every day. I get a lot of compliments on it and sometimes people touch it, without my permission.

    Suits

Good luck with your job search, Just. I would recommend a nice solid colored suit. That way you can dress it up with different brooches or shoes or undershirts. Sorry I don't have any tips on where to find suits. I pick mine up whenever I see them on discount at stores, or at the thrift...

    Hair Help

Try not to straighten your hair as much. Go to a good hairdresser and lay out your problem. There may be a kind of shampoo you can get that will de-frizz your hair and make it look more silky and shiny. I used to straighten my hair a lot and it got pretty damaged. I ended up having to...

Is anyone besides me SAD about winter?

If you are good at building things, you can build your own light box. I had problems with winters in the past. One of the things that helped me the most was forcing myself to go outside in the winter for walks. I think that the sunlight that I got was enough to counteract the winter blues...
