PART ONE: PAST RECREATION

Monica slipped off her trendy black-framed glasses and listened as her manager told her, "Here’s the gig and I know you're going to love it."

24-year-old Monica Walls worked in the modeling field long enough to know, any time someone would say, you're going to love it, it usually meant the reverse.

"You’ve heard of Carrion Industries no doubt, they're coming out with a new weight loss drug and your going to be the spokes model. Uh? Told you, you'd love it."

Monica was a vivacious beauty, who began her career as model five short years ago. Though she hadn’t quite reached supermodel status, she was very much indeed, working her way up the ladder.

"You want to run that by me again?" Monica curiously asked.

Monica had already done work for Calvin Kline, The House of Rothschild's and was even featured on the cover of Allure magazine. Her manager lit a cigarette, then took a bite out of his corn beef sandwich.

"Well; we’ll use a photograph of you, taken a few years ago. We’ll have the guys in the film room add, I don’t know? One hundred, maybe two hundred pounds to it. It’ll be your before photograph. Then we shoot you in a string bikini and that will be your after photograph."

Her manager popped a couple of Advil's into his mouth, and then upon washing them down with water, took another bite from his sandwich.

"Then the people, who are advertising the account, will write some stuff about you being miserable in high school because you were so fat."

Taking a slow drag from his cigarette, Monica's manager continued, "But now due to their new weight loss drug, you’re slim and happy."

Monica mildly chuckled. "You have got to be kidding me. I have never been heavy in my entire life. Matter of fact, I need to eat all the time just to maintain my current weight, else I’d become too skinny."

Monica’s short, platinum blond mane looked fabulous, set in a short preppy hairstyle, which showcased her beauteous facial features. Her 121-pound figure was naturally slim and looked stunning in whatever garment she wore.

Her manager poured himself a shot of bourbon as he told Monica, "Hey come on now, like who’s to know? I mean, with you as spoke model, this product will sell like hot cakes."

Her manager drank the bourbon and continued to smoke while eating his sandwich.

Monica asked, "What about the Max Factor ad? I thought that was my next assignment?"

Her manager burped, then informed Monica, "Well I thought Brina might be better suited for the gig, so I gave it to her."

Brina Clayton wasn’t Monica’s rival, but rather her friend. Brina was new to the biz and Monica took her under her wing and was showing her the ropes. Brina’s chestnut-brown hair was long, thick and wavy, perfectly framing her exquisite face. She had a curvy, well-proportioned 135-pound figure, which was rather amply endowed to say the least.

Monica tapped her glasses on her knee, "Oh give me a break, you gave Brina the gig because of the size of her knockers."

Her manager lied through his teeth, "Actually I never noticed."

Monica stood up and straighten her knee high skirt, "Let me see the before snapshots and then I’ll tell you if I agree to this assignment."

Her manager shook his head; "The photo’s should be ready by morning, so stop by at around nine."

As Monica was about to leave the office, her manager called over to her, "Hey Monica, you wouldn’t happen by chance have any Tums on ya?"

Upon leaving her manager’s office, Monica paid Brina a visit to congratulate her on getting the Max Factor assignment. As soon as Brina opened the door, she snatched Monica by the wrist and pulled her into her dressing room. Brina stood clad in only her undergarments, sucking in her gut. "I can’t let anyone see me like this," Brina remarked.

A puzzled look touched Monica’s face, "And this is because?"

Brina tapped her belly, "I’ve put on four pounds, what am I going to do? Look at how fat I’m getting."

Monica glanced over Brina’s voluptuous body and remarked, "You are not fat my friend."

Brina pouted and squeezed her tummy so tight, that it formed a thick roll. "See, I have a fat belly."

Monica reassured her friend, "You have a small pouch, don't worry about it. Just watch what you eat and do a few extra sit-ups."

Brina folded her arms over her breasts and whined, "What will I do in the mean time?"

Monica smiled, "Nothing, haven't you ever heard of air brushing?"

Noticing a box of chocolates on Brina’s vanity, Monica picked up the chocolates and turned to her friend, "You might want to lay off of these for a while."

Brina nodded, "Yeah, your right. I have a big weakness for chocolate."

Brina bounced upon the sofa and asked Monica, "What’s your secret? How do you stay so thin?"

Monica walked over to her friend and gently patted her cheek, "I don’t have one. I’m one of the lucky few who doesn’t need to battle the bulge."

The next morning, Monica met up with the photographer, Harlen Thorne. Harlen was a good-looking, slim young man with five o’clock shadow and ponytail. Monica worked with Harlen before and though Harlen was at least ten years older then Monica, they had compatible personalities and were the best of friends.

"Anxious about seeing your before photos?" Harlen asked with a smile.

Monica nodded, "Kind of, but this is so odd. I never pictured myself as ever being fat."

Harlen handed Monica the snapshots and stood next to her as they looked over them together. "I used the photos that we didn’t use from that shoot we did at the lakefront two years ago. Think you pass for an 18-year old?"

Monica slowly examined the photos, "I think so, my gosh, how much heavier did you make me?"

The photos showed the false representation of a mildly chubby Monica to a very fat version of herself. Dressed in a white and navy blue stripped top and blue jeans, the photos captured a smiling, moon faced young lady at various weights.

Harlen explained as he wrapped his arm around Monica’s slender waist, "Okay in snapshot’s one and two, you'd be roughly 175 pounds. In three and four, your at least 200 and in five, six and seven, anywhere between 255 to 280. What do you think of yourself full figured?"

Monica chuckled, "My gosh; my face is so pudgy."

Harlen glanced into Monica’s soft green eyes, " I think you look cute."

Monica giggled, "Yeah? Try to fit your arm around my waist if I actually looked like that. You’d never make it."

Monica bit her lip; "I thought for the ad I’m supposed to look fat and miserable? In those photo’s I look happy."

Harlen rested his head along side of hers, "That's because in these photos you are happy. I guess once they choose which one they’ll use, we'll alter your expression."

Monica turned her head and their faces were separated by inches. "Which one do you think they’ll use?" Monica softly asked.

Harlen ran his fingers through her hair as he replied, "I really don’t know."

Then they kissed. After a minute the embrace was broken and Harlen asked Monica, "Ready to take some after shots?"

Monica smiled and planting her hands upon her narrow hips, remarked, "Yeah, I’m game."

Two weeks later the ad was ready and Monica wasn’t thrilled. "I don’t look miserable, I look angry."

Her manager did his best to soft soak Monica with a handful of BS. "Well Monica sweetie, of course you’re angry. You’re angry about being so fat."

In the photograph, Monica easily appeared to be 250 pounds. Her face looked swollen and her belly was gigantic. Her upper arms were stocky and her waist was unrealistically wide. Not only that, but her hair color was changed to a darker shade of blond. The print on the add read, "HI I’M MONICA WALLS. IN HIGH SCHOOL I WAS A BLIMP! I HAD NO SELF-ESTEEM, NEVER DATED AND THE MEAN KIDS PICKED ON ME. IT SUCKED BEING FAT. NOW THANKS TO ULTRA-SLIM 5000, NOT ONLY AM I SLIM, POPULAR AND A BABE, I'M A PROFESSIONAL MODEL!

Monica tossed the add onto her manager’s desk, "I’m not too sure about this."

Her manager lit a cigarette, "Well blasted! Be sure about it. Aren’t you getting paid?"

Monica tried to reason with him, "Don’t you think the ad is a little negative?"

Her manager leaned back into his imitation leather chair, "Listen, their trying to sell weight loss pills, so of course it’s going to be negative."

Monica leaned over his desk, "How do we know if these pills even work?"

Her manager replied as he blew a smoke ring into Monica’s face, "If the pills worked, why would the company need to hire a spoke model?"

Monica blinked, "You mean the pills don’t actually make a person lose weight?"

Her manager smiled and raised his eyebrows, "Hey; it’s business sweetheart! Money talks!"

Monica reached over and tried to grab her manager’s tie, but he quickly moved out of the way. Running over to his side of the desk, she pounced upon his chest and shook him, "You’re having me endorse a product that doesn’t work?"

Her manager pushed her away, stood up and fixed his tie. Monica sat on the edge of his desk, as her manager took a long hard drag from his smoke and came clean, "Yeah, well you see, anyone who takes the pills, most people will lose up to ten, twenty-pounds max. Unless they stay on the pills it’s a 100% chance they’ll put the weight back on, plus four pounds for every pound they lost."

Monica looked away from her manager, as he continued, "About 75% of every one taking Ultra-slim 5000 will contact one side effect or another. Most people will get a swelling in the..."

Monica interrupted her manager; "This could hurt many people. I want to end my association with you and this product."

Her manager smiled, "Well Monica, I'm sorry to say we have you under contract for ten years. There’s not one thing you can do about it, you signed a release stating that the Ignoble Modeling agency can use your likeness in any way, any shape or any form."

Monica drew a breath; "Well I’ll go and take this to the newspapers."

Her manager grinned even wider, "If you read the copy of your contract under section 14, line B, you’d see where it says, any behavior disruptive too this agency will be dealt with under full penalty of the law. Now Monica, unless you want a career as a mommy in diaper commercials, I suggest you leave."

Monica boarded the elevator defeated. As the doors closed, she leaned up along side the back of the car, bit her lip, and then wished out loud, "I never thought I would ever say this, but I wish I was fat."

Monica didn't notice the puzzled look of the older lady sharing the car with her and listening. Leah closed her eyes and probed the mind of the distraught model; she was saddened by what she learned. The girl was pretty, innocent, kind, but seemingly trapped. Perhaps, though, threre was a way of escape, by the granting of her expressed wish. Leah smiled and said nothing; that night she would review her books..

PART TWO: YESTERDAY AS TODAY

Monica spent the rest of the day at the health club and once at home tried to find a loophole in her contract. Just before bedtime, Monica received a phone call from Brina who sounded in distress. "Why did you lie to me?"

Monica blinked her eyes, "What? How did I lie to you?"

Brina went into details, crying as she spoke, "You said you never had a weight problem and this evening I found out that you were heavy in high school and lost weight because you took diet pills. Well, I'm going to take the pills too, because I gained another pound!"

Monica drew a breath, "Listen Brina, that ad you saw is a scam, made up to sell the pills. Trust me, in high school I was really skinny."

Brina remained silent, so Monica continued, "Just ask Harlen, he doctored up the snapshots...and tomorrow, I'll show you my senior year, yearbook, okay?"

Brina softly responded, "Okay Monica, if you say so. But our manager gave me a few free samples and I’m going to start taking them tonight."

Monica sternly replied, "No Brina, don’t take them, you'll only get fatter!"

Brina shouted back, "Fatter? You agree I’m fat!"

Monica explained with caution, "Of course I don’t think you're fat, but Brina stay clear of those pills or you’ll get heavier."

Brina didn’t believe her friend. It wasn’t due to lack of trust, but rather out of desperation to remain slim.

"Yeah Monica, okay," Brina lied. Once off the phone, Brina’s hand slipped inside of her purse and she removed a bottle of Ultra-slim 5000.

Monica went into her bookcase and removed her senior class yearbook to show Brina in the morning. Turning to the page, which held her photograph, Monica couldn’t make sense of what see saw. It was a round-faced version of herself! Monica blinked and was relieved to find the photo was back to normal. "I’m letting this get to me. I need a shower."

Monica started the shower and tossed her T-shirt onto the floor, removing her slacks, Monica turned to face the shower, but instead found herself in the gym locker room of her high school! Her stout body was in her school colors, white T-shirt and red shorts.

Though her body was bigger all over, her face and belly seemed to carry most of the weight, drawing attention to her 240-pound butterball shape. Monica’s face was extremely round and fat with huge chipmunk cheeks and thick double chin. Her belly was totally round and colossal in size. Monica was now a huge 18-year old high school senior. Taking a strand of her shoulder length hair, Monica noticed it was now blondish-brown in color.

Monica ‘s eyes scanned the locker room as she tried to make some sense out of the ordeal. A slim cheerleader type noticed Monica’s odd behavior and coldly remarked, "What are you looking at? You tubby lard ass whale!"

Monica shrugged her shoulders, but was defended by another slim gal a few steps away. "Hey, why don’t you leave her alone?! Maybe she’s an overeater or has some kind of health problem."

It was her best friend from high school that defended her, Michelle O’Reilly. Oddly enough, Monica realized that Michelle was now just an acquaintance, who only defended Monica because she was a nice person. Monica removed her glasses and discovered her trendy black frames were exchanged for a pair with ordinary wire frames.

A friendly voice from behind caused Monica to turn around and there stood Sasha Gemaz, a beautiful Latin American princess with short wavy black hair, cute round face and luscious 175-pound full figure. Monica remembered Sasha as a schoolmate, not an actually friend, but realized in this reality, she was her best buddy. Sasha was a very sweet, good-natured gal, who was highly intelligent as well. "Come on Monica, get out of your gym uniform and get dressed or you’ll be late for health class."

For the first time in her life, Monica felt uncomfortable about her body.

"I can’t get undressed in front of everybody?" Monica remarked.

Sasha shrugged her shoulders, "Are you feeling okay? You’ve gotten undress in front of everyone all school year long. Why are you being so self-conscious?"

Monica’s hand pressed upon her big belly, "Because I’ve never been fat."

Sasha blinked, "You’ve been having beers with Duffy Wayfellow? You’ve always been chubby."

That name, Duffy Wayfellow, lit a light bulb in her head. Back in high school, he was a jerk she would purposely avoid. "Why did she have feelings for him now?"

Monica quickly brought her hand up to her mouth, "Oh my gosh! Duffy Wayfellow is my boyfriend!"

Another young lady walking by gave Monica a sour look as she remarked, "That’s nothing to brag about. If you asked me, the guys scum."

Monica turned to Sasha and asked, "Why am involved with Duffy?"

Sasha squinted; "I’ve been asking myself the same question. I suppose it’s because he shows you attention."

Sasha gently touched Monica on her shoulder, "But he doesn’t show you any respect."

The bell rang and Sasha playfully shook her friend, "See, the first bell rang! Get dressed or we’ll be late!"

With the second bell Monica opened her eyes to the ringing of the alarm clock. Monica was in bed and as she reached over to shut off the alarm clock, mumbled, "This is too weird. Is it too early to have a drink?"

Monica tossed the blankets off from her body and as she sat on the edge of her bed, noticed she wasn’t in the same surroundings as she was accustomed too.

"This isn’t my bedroom?" Monica stood up and walked around the room, "This room is oddly familiar, but it isn’t my bedroom."

Coming upon the mirror that hung above her vanity table, Monica froze at her reflection! For looking back at her was a very heavy, 289-pound young woman. Monica stepped backwards and looked downwards to her body. Her belly was so enormous; she could barely see her feet. Walking into the living room, Monica covered her mouth as she saw that she was no longer in her spacious condo, but in a small, one-bedroom apartment. "I’m going insane; there's no other explanation."

The telephone rang and Monica paused before answering it. Though as it continued ringing, Monica's curiosity got the better of her and so closing her eyes, she answered. "Hi, this is Monica speaking."

It was a friendly male voice on the other side, "Hello Monica, its Trent. How have you been?"

Monica felt the name sounded familiar, but couldn’t place it. "I’m good?"

Trent laughed, "That doesn’t sound too convincing."

Monica’s hand roamed over her extensive belly "Well a lot’s been happening Trent. It’s a real confusing time for me."

Sitting down on the couch, Monica glanced over her thighs. They were big, bulky and bumpy. Squeezing a thigh with her hand, her fingers disappeared into the soft flab. "Anyway Monica, I was thinking about you the other day."

Monica felt oddly flattered by Trent’s remark. Many guys showed her attention, what could it be that made Trent’s remark so flattering? "I know I haven’t seen you in over a year, but would you like to maybe have dinner or grab coffee or something?"

Monica smiled, "Sure, how about Friday night?"

Trent happily agreed, "Okay, great. I’ll pick you up at about Seven-ish."

After hanging up, Monica was full of the giggles, "Oh my gosh! I actually have date with Trent!"

That was until she realized, "Wait a minute, I date often. Why is this Trent guy so special?"

Monica laid upon her coach, her arm covering her eyes and wondered. "Yesterday I was a slim fashion model with many male admirers and living in an upscale expensive condo. Today, I'm an overweight chick, living in a dingy one bedroom flat and I’m already in love because some guy I don’t even remember asked me out. I need a grip?"

Monica felt a cold chill and sat up. Monica blinked as she discovered that she was not only back in her condo, but also slim! Monica rushed over to her mirror and upon checking out her figure, smiled, "Maybe I’m dreaming?"

Putting on a T-shirt and spandex slacks, Monica put her hair up in a ponytail and grabbed her high school yearbook. Since it was still early, Monica decided to have light work out before getting together with Brina, so she went to the gym.

Once at the gym, Monica was on the treadmill when a fitness instructor approached her. Debbie Coales was a tall, fair skinned, attractive young lady with soft green eyes and shoulder length blond hair. "Hey Monica, you're doing an excellent job, keep it up!"

Monica turned to Debbie, "Yeah…thanks for the support."

Debbie smiled, "Remember not to lose sight of your goals and the weight will come off."

Bewildered by Debbie’s comment, Monica turned and glanced over her body, "Oh my gosh, it happen again!"

Sure enough, Monica was back to 289 pounds!

Debbie walked over to Monica, "What dear? What happen again?"

Monica stepped off the Stairmaster, "How long have I’ve been coming here? Better yet, how long have you’ve known me?"

Debbie shrugged her shoulders, "I don’t know? A couple of years?"

Monica took her big butterball belly into her hands, "Have I always looked like this?"

Debbie noticed the other females in the gym watching the commotion and suggested, "Let’s take this in my office."

Monica complied and once in the office, asked Debbie, "Have I ever been this fat?"

Debbie searched through the file cabinet for Monica’s file, "I think you lost a few pounds haven’t you? How much do you weigh now?"

Monica didn’t have a clue on how she knew the answer, but replied, "289-pounds." Monica looked over her reflection in a huge, full-length mirror covering the wall.

Studying her body, Monica's head dropped, as she felt uncomfortable about the way she looked in the spandex.

"These slacks make my tummy look huge," Monica thought to herself.

Debbie took a seat on her desk, as she glanced over Monica’s file. "Okay, Monica Jennifer Walls, age twenty when you started here, you work at a modeling agency...."

Monica strolled over to Debbie, ‘See, I'm a fashion model, why would I be so heavy?"

Debbie point blankly remarked, as she looked Monica right in her chubby face, "Says here you’re a modeling assistant."

Monica yelled, "A modeling assistant! I’m a model! I’ve appeared on the cover of Allure magazine!"

Debbie handed Monica a snapshot; "Here’s a photo of you when you first started working out here, tell me if you look like a model?"

As Monica’s eyes touched the photograph of an extremely well fed version of herself in pigtails, Debbie softly read from the file, "You started on January 3rd two years ago at the weight of 304-pounds...got down to 290.... then back up to 321...back down to 299...then back up to 323."

Debbie grabbed a pen and wrote down Monica’s current weight, "Well if you’re actually back down to 289 pounds, then your making progress. Keep it up."

Monica handed Debbie the snapshot; "I don’t expect you to believe me, Debbie. But I’ve never weighed more then 123-pounds."

Debbie caught an item in the file she didn’t see before, "You take diet pills?"

Monica blinked, "Diet pills? I don’t take diet pills."

Debbie shrugged her shoulders and showed Monica where it read that she was taking Ultra-slim 5000. Monica’s hand covered her mouth, "Oh my gosh, no wonder I’m a blimp."

Debbie gently rubbed Monica’s upper arm; "Diet pills are bad news girls. You should know better then that."

Monica shook her head, "Yeah Debbie, actually I do."

Debbie suggested to Monica that she should just go back home and relax, which was exactly what she did. Arriving home, Monica took a quick shower and upon getting dressed, she inspected her face in the bathroom mirror.

"I look so different...I’m not ugly...no, I’m kind of cute." Monica smiled at her reflection, "Actually...I’m still beautiful...maybe not in the same way? But.... still beautiful. I’m kind of a renaissance gal. A classical beauty."

Monica then turned to the full-length mirror that hung upon the back of the door. Taking a step backward, she placed her hands upon her spacious hips, "I don’t look half bad." Monica giggled as she wiggled her hips; "I’m a big sexy lady!"

A knock came to her door and Monica left the bathroom to answer it. Monica opened the door and there stood Harlen with a bottle of wine. Monica covered her eyes, "Oh my gosh! I wish you didn’t have to see me this way!"

Harlen curiously replied, "What way?"

Monica felt confident about her appearance and thought she was attractive, but was unsure about the way she looked to the opposite sex. Monica removed her hand from her eyes, "I’m fat!"

Harlen walked inside and laid his hand upon Monica’s shoulder, "Where exactly are you fat?"

Monica grabbed Harlen’s hand and brought him to her dining room mirror, "Just look at...me."

Monica jaw dropped! She was slim again. Monica buried her face into Harlen’s chest and wrapped her arm’s around his waist, "Oh Harlen; I’m going crazy."

Harlen rubbed the back of her head, then lifted her chin, "What’s the matter?"

Monica smiled as she softly replied, "Would you believe me?"

Harlen nodded as he pressed his lips to hers.

Monica opened her eyes to discover she was in a damp dirty basement, on top of a worn out hideaway sofa with Duffy Wayfellow almost on top of her. Duffy smelled of beer and the stout 18-year old Monica turned her face away from him to escape his terrible breath. Duffy proceeded to kiss her neck and cheek, as his hand slipped under her blouse.

"Monica you are so beautiful, you know that?" Duffy continued as one hand massaged her paunchy waist, while the other hand played with her hair, "A lot of guys don’t like big girls, but I don’t mind. So you’re fat, that only means there’s more of you to love."

Monica couldn’t make complete sense out of this, but somehow realized; if she was a plus size gal, she wouldn’t have been as popular and so she would have to compromise her integrity for attention. That’s why she dated Duffy,

even though she knew he was a jerk, because he paid attention to her. Maybe she could change him into a nice guy? Duffy sat up and he placed his fingers under the elastic of her spandex slacks. Monica moved her knees together and Duffy leaned over and kissed her. The intellect of a confident 24-year old woman replaced the ignorance of a shy 18-year old girl looking for affection. "This isn’t a good idea Duffy. I want to go home."

Duffy snickered, "Why Monica? We’re going to have so much fun."

Duffy leaned back up and began to pull the slacks off Monica, who sat up to fight back.

Duffy pushed her back on top of the mattress, "Now lie still fat ass! You might enjoy this as much as me."

With one fast yank, Duffy had Monica’s slacks off mid thigh; "You could at least help!"

Monica fused her knees together, "Get off of me creep!"

Duffy pulled Monica’s knees apart, "No way! Fat girls just don’t get it? They won’t get a guy unless they put out!"

Duffy grabbed hold of her slacks and yanked then further, down to her knees. "I’m glad it’s dark, I'd hate to see your cellulite."

Monica rolled over on her side and Duffy slapped her butt. "Hey, what are you doing? Come on, play along, you might like!"

Then the basement light turned on and a young man quickly ran down the stairs. It was Duffy’s older brother. Two years older then Duffy, he wasn’t the least bit a cad, unlike his younger brother. "Mom told me to check on you and see what all the yelling was about."

Duffy stood up and walked over to his brother, "Tell mom everything’s okay, now run back upstairs and mind your own business."

His brother looked over Duffy’s shoulder, "You okay?"

Monica slowly shook her head, negative. His brother reached over to a stack of playboy magazines, rolled one up and began beating Duffy over the head, "What is a matter with you!"

Duffy charged his brother, who grabbed his shoulders and flung him into the magazines. Duffy’s brother towered over him, "Listen you little creep. We have two ways of doing this. You can leave and I’ll keep this from mom or I can put you in the hospital."

Duffy snickered; "You couldn’t box your eyes off."

His older brother bent down and looked Duffy squarely into the eyes, "Then we’ll do it your way."

He clenched his fist and Duffy stood up, waving his hands in front of his face. "Okay, okay, I’m leaving."

As Duffy removed himself from the basement, his brother walked over to Monica, who had already pulled up her slacks and was on her feet. "The guys an asshole, I can barely stand him myself."

Monica nodded, "You don’t have to convince me."

Sternly, Duffy's brother informed Monica, "I don’t know who you are Miss, but a word of advice. If a guy really like’s you, he's not going to try and..... you know, do it in a dirty basement with his family right upstairs."

Monica nodded and he continued, "Sex isn’t always about love. To a lot of guys, sex is just getting their cookies off. I don’t mean to sound so rough, but remember, if a guy really care’s about you, he'll make sure you’re comfortable about doing it and not try and pressure you into anything you’re unsure about doing."

Monica picked up her purse, "Yeah; I understand and thank you. By the way, I’m Monica."

Duffy’s brother nodded, "And I’m Trent."

Monica’s jaw dropped, "You're Trent!"

Trent smiled, "You heard of me?"

Monica smiled; "You wouldn’t believe me if I tried."

Trent shrugged his shoulders, "Okay, but I’d almost believe anything."

Monica walked towards the basement door, "Trust me Trent, this is way out there."

Trent tilted his head, "Want a ride home?"

Monica opened the basement door, "Yeah Trent, I think I do."

On the ride home and for a whole hour while sitting in his car, Monica discovered Trent to be the polar opposite of his brother. "Its getting late Monica and I have early classes at the U of I tomorrow."

Monica smiled; "Maybe sometime in the future we could meet for coffee?"

Trent shook his head, "Sure. I have to tell you though; I have a girlfriend, so it’ll be as friends."

Monica’s rocked her head as she giggled, "Hey, who’s to know what the future holds."

Upon shaking hands, Monica left Trent’s car, slammed the door and found herself back in her Condo and at 123-pounds!

PART THREE: YESTERDAY SYNCHRONIZED WITH TODAY

Monica was in back in her dining room and still in Harlen’s embrace. Harlen gently rubbed her thin upper arm, "You okay? You look as if you’re a million miles away?"

Blinking as she shook her head, "She removed herself from Harlen’s embrace, "Let’s open the wine. I’ve quite the story to tell you."

Retreating to the living room, Monica explained in every detail the strange phenomenon affecting her. Harlen looked over his glass of wine, sipped, then glanced towards Monica. "Those are some interesting delusions. Tell me Mon, have you been taking those goofy diet pills from that company we’re advertising for?"

Monica slugged down her glass of wine, and then poured herself another, before joining Harlen on the love seat. "You kidding me? Even if I had weight problem, I wouldn’t take ‘em. No way, and I hope Brina’s not going to take them either."

Harlen tilted his head, "Too late, she already has."

Monica rubbed the back of her head, "Blast it. She told me she wasn’t going to use them."

Harlen sipped his wine, then explained, "Saw her this morning, she was pretty upset, thinking you lied to her about your weight. I told her that the ad was bogus."

Monica asked, "What about the pills?"

Harlen leaned in towards Monica’s body, "She said something about, maybe you don’t need the pills, but she does. I guess she’s afraid of getting fat."

Monica rolled her eyes, "All she really needs to do, is to take it easy with the sweets."

Harlen moved in to kiss Monica on the neck, "I’d hate to see her get fat and lose her looks."

Monica blocked his kiss with her fingers, and then removed herself from the loveseat. "Come again? Lose her looks?"

Harlen realized he fumbled the ball and tried to weasel himself out of his blunder, "What I meant was.... lose her shape."

Monica wasn’t buying it, "You meant looks Harlen, as if plump females aren’t attractive."

Harlen stood up and polished off his wine. "I just don’t think heavy gals are attractive. It shouldn’t be taken as an insult, it’s more of a preference."

Monica folded her arms over her bust, "You told me, and I looked cute in my after photographs."

Harlen nodded, "Yeah, so? Saying you looked cute doesn’t necessarily mean I’m attracted to you."

Monica kept to her defensive stance, "If I was a heavy gal, you wouldn’t find me attractive?"

A slight grin crept upon Harlen’s face, revealing his embarrassment, "Sorry Mon."

Monica shook her head in bewilderment, "So typical of a guy to force standards on what’s physically attractive."

Harlen blinked, "Your the one whose a model! Models have always given an unrealistic perception of physical beauty. So don’t blame me if my opinion coincides with the popular norm of what or what’s not attractive."

Harlen poured himself another glass of wine as he spoke, "Look at the product you’re endorsing? It’s to lose weight. Trust me, if most guys found heavy chicks attractive, there’d be no need for weight losing products."

Monica approached Harlen, "You haven’t a clue what a chubby gal goes through."

Harlen backed away from Monica, "Maybe not, but neither do you?"

Monica shook her head, "Yeah I do, when I was chubby in high school."

Harlen eyes grew wide and his jaw dropped, "You were never chubby."

The palm of Monica’s hand, sharply pressed into Harlen’s chest, "Weren’t you listening to what I told you?"

Harlen polished off his wine, then moved out from Monica’s path, "Hey I remember! Just like I remember all the drugs you took last summer in China."

Monica paused, "Huh? What are you talking about Harlen? I’ve never taken drugs or ever been to China."

Harlen nodded, "Yeah I know, but that’s the only explanation I can find that’ll explain your delusions."

Harlen walked over to Monica and as he gently held her forearms, asked, "Does it really matter Monica, that I don’t find heavy chicks attractive?"

Monica’s face lost alignment with his, her eyes focusing towards the floor. "Two days ago, no. But now.... yeah...it does."

Upon Harlen’s departure, Monica walked to her bedroom and as she turned and faced the mirror, her body tingled and a cold chill ran up her spin. Monica closed her eyes, then opened them as she heard Sasha say, "Come on, there’s a good looking guy outside to see you."

Sasha was in a pink gown and red jacket; her black hair was up and set in a style that complimented her beautiful face. Monica realized she was at her senior prom. Monica’s stout figure was in a light blue gown with an ivory ribbon tied around her voluptuous waist. Sasha led Monica by the hand outside of the swank hotel where the prom was being held.

There outside stood Trent, his hair slicked back and wearing a nice shirt, tie, and dress slacks. As Trent approached Monica, Sasha wandered back inside. Trent addressed Monica with a big smile upon his handsome face, "Hey you."

Monica’s head tilted slightly as she grinned, "What are you doing here?"

Trent softly explained as he gazed into her eyes, "Last week you were so upset about going dateless to your prom, so I thought...maybe you might be in need of a last minute date?"

Monica realized this was true. "Yeah, I guess guys don’t see me as dating material."

Trent gently rubbed her chin, "Then they’re all fools. You are so gorgeous."

Monica giggled, "And what does your significant other think?"

Trent took Monica by the hand, "I told her I was helping out a friend."

Upon kissing her hand, Trent led her inside, "Sorry no tux."

Monica smiled, "That doesn’t matter. I’m happy you showed up."

They embraced and danced to a slow song and Monica’s heart melted away as the music played.

The next instant, Monica was listening to her clock radio and hugging her pillow. She rubbed her eyes and slowly removed her body out of bed, muttering something to herself about getting ready for work. She made tracks to her bathroom where Monica discovered, "Oh-oh, I’m fat again."

There stood the 289 pound Monica looking at her reflection in the mirror. Wearing a simple, old fashion nightgown, Monica shook her huge belly, "My gosh, why do I feel like this is it?"

Yawning, Monica turned on the shower and removed the nightgown. Monica softly giggled, as her hands roamed over the love handles that circled her thick waist. Monica smiled at her reflection in the mirror and accepted her new reality.

Monica arrived at the modeling agency in a black T-shirt and gray sweats, her blond hair tied in a ponytail that accented her lovely face. Running into Harlen, he treated her like she was just an employee, not a friend. "You know Brina’s been looking for you."

Monica smiled, "That right?"

Harlen didn’t even bother to look Monica in the eye and kept his distance from her, "Yeah, she’s in her dressing room. Oh by the way, the lobby needs to be straightened up a bit, if you don’t mind."

Monica nodded and walked over to Brina’s dressing room. After knocking on the door, Brina invited Monica in and Monica covered her mouth when she saw Brina! Brina was now at least ten pounds heavier and wearing a frumpy looking sundress that she wore as a mom in a diaper commercial.

"Help me out of this," Brina demanded.

Monica did exactly as she was told.

Brina’s body was soft and flabby; her upper arms shook as she moved. Her small potbelly settled over her underwear and her thighs were a little chunky. Brina took a bite from a cheese sandwich, then sipped her cola, "Today was a tough shoot. I can’t wait to lose these pounds and start shooting glamorous spots again."

Monica watched as Brina went into her purse and removed a bottle of pills. "Funny thing, I can’t seem to get off these pills. Once I stop taking them the weight comes back."

Brina popped a couple of pills into her mouth, then firmly patted her plump tummy, "I hate being fat."

Monica spoke up, "Actually your not fat and if you want to maintain a slim figure, you should watch what you eat and...."

Brina interrupted Monica, "Look whose talking. Shut up chubbs and give me a massage."

Monica followed the command and as she rubbed Brina’s back, remarked, "I’m just a little concerned about you, Brina."

Brina grumbled, "Mind your own business, will ya. I’ll lose the weight and start working for Max Factor again."

Monica noticed that Brina’s bottom was wider with a touch of cellulite and a narrow strip of flab that pushed out over the waistband of Brina’s panties. "Brina, I would lay off the diet pills."

Brina rolled over on her side, "Where do you get off calling me by my first name! You’re an employee, not an co-worker. So do your job and shut up!"

Monica obeyed and remained silent.

Later that evening Monica returned home and to her surprise, she discovered Trent standing with flowers in front of her apartment! She quickly ran over to him and Trent handed her the roses. "Did you forget about our dinner plans?"

Monica smiled in delight as she shook her head, "Actually, yeah I did!"

Trent touched her sweet face, "Well, let’s get ready."

Monica tilted her head, "Yeah, of course. Come on in."

As she got dressed, Monica’s mind caught up with her new reality. Trent had parted company with his girlfriend sometime ago. Since then, they had become friends sharing the odds and ends of their lives through phone calls and e-mails. Monica looked smashing in her pink blouse and black slacks, her blond hair dancing upon her shoulders.

"I’ve put on a few pounds since the last time we we’re together," Monica nervously informed Trent.

Trent glanced over Monica’s figure and smiled, "You shouldn’t be working for a modeling agency, and you should be a model!"

Monica laughed, "Only in my dreams."

EPILOUGE: TEN YEARS LATER

Monica and Trent’s friendship slowly developed into true love and eventually they married. Monica quit the agency and went back to school. She later became an editor for a fashion magazine that catered to big beautiful women.

Monica sat in her office proofing an article as her secretary entered, "Monica, the new model is here, should I send her in?"

Monica shook her head and smiled, "Sure, send her in."

Monica removed herself from behind her desk and waited for the model to enter. The model walked into the room and instantaneously recognized the editor, "Monica Walls?"

Monica grinned at the model, who just happened to be Brina, "It’s Monica Wayfellow now, but nice to see you Brina."

Brina was now a plus size model and at 210 shapely pounds, looked delicious. Her chestnut brown hair was long and wavy, hugging her shoulders and showcasing her gorgeous oval shaped face. Brina’s facial features were now chubby with fuller cheeks and adorable double chin. Her hourglass figure was dressed in a ivory colored blouse and khaki slacks. Brina had big beautiful upper arms and her plump bosom was firm. Her belly was pudgy and perfectly round as her waist was thick. Her hips wide, her large posterior pushed out and upwards and her husky thighs bloomed in comeliness.

Monica reached out and shook Brina’s hand. "I do hope you’ll work for us Brina. We have a special edition coming out about swimwear and you’ll be perfect for the assignment."

Brina blinked, "You personally sent for me? How come? Didn’t I treat you like dirt back when you worked at the..."

Monica interrupted Brina, "That’s a thing of the past. Listen, you want the job or not?"

Brina shook her head, "Yeah, of course."

Brina hugged Monica, and then after she backed away asked, "I’ve gained so much weight, no I told you so about diet pills?"

Monica chuckled, "As long as you’re not using them now."

Brina smiled, "You kidding me? It took me over a year to lose an extra 50 pounds. But that’s it. I’m comfortable with my appearance as is."

Monica smiled, "You should be. You look beautiful!"

Needless to say, Brina excelled in the modeling biz as Monica did with the fashion magazine. Best of all, they became friends again.
