Found this just now on Daily Mail.
Is more than a decade since my last travels. But can agree with too small towels, balcony/garden chair too narrow, shower just about fit that but forget about move in it..

I'm larger than Mary Fran, and have run into the same issues when staying at hotels. The towels are always too small, even for an average sized person IMO. My biggest bugbear is discovering that the showers are more often than not a bath/shower combo. They are not fat friendly as far as I'm concerned, and because they're designed to take up less space, they tend to be smaller again. I've almost toppled out of one as I was washing myself.

Don't even get me started on how toilets are shoved in as an afterthought in the design process. They have no wiggle room for hips.
