Hello, and welcome once more to the official Dimensions Hallowe'en Thread!

(The Re...deadening?)

Yes, it is soon approaching that time of year again, the month of creeps, Creepozoids and ghouls all leaping out of their sarcophagi to deliver a damn good BOO-ing to the living!

Or, something like that.

Anyway, please feel free to drop Macabre Music, Creepy Clips, and Scary Sculptures in this thread - it is greatly appreciated by those of us who are really into horror, especially at this time of year!

Thanks, and happy Hallowe'en!

Tom aka Adamantoise.

I have a few additions to the kickoff pre-game show for Halloween. One is a singer, one is a movie, and a few pieces of artwork.

1. If you haven't heard this guy sing, you will never forget his voice. I give you "Vitas". Be sure and check out his orchestra too!

2. For a creepy, inexpensive, older movie, I suggest "Door-to-Door Maniac."
This is a 1961 suspense movie with a murderous thug and gang who take a bank executive's wife hostage after their robbery plans go awry. What makes it notable is the murderous thug is no other than . . . . Johnny Cash.

3.Artwork . . . here's some pieces I like under the theme "Dark Angels".

Gi Cave, Cosmo Canyon from Final Fantasy VII. Quite an unsettling place if it's your first time there - it's basically a graveyard inside a cavern that was sealed to keep the spirits from escaping into the Canyon.

Not helped by the fact that this is the theme music of the cave.[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MiWV2KseKeo"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MiWV2KseKeo[/ame]

You do battle with numerous enemies, including Spectres that ride with spears and Spider-like enemies with very long legs...and at the end, you come to this face.

A face that...roars (?) and twists into an unpleasant grin before attacking the party.

Theme of Uli Lommel's "The Boogey Man", a 1980 horror film banned in the UK under Mary Whitehouse's 'Video Nasty' scare. Music by Tim Krog.

Hi Friends,

I want to thank Tom and Matt for their interesting, creepy, and bizarre contribution to the Halloween info or the past few days. Tom - it never ceases to amaze me of the depth and expanse of your macabre knowledge - sometimes I worry about you. But hey, that's what the Halloween party is all about.

Thank you two for the interesting referrals and movie and game recommendations. Any one else wanting to contribute is welcome.

My contribution for today deals with a trivia list, some movie recs, and a few more pictures. Hope you like some of them.

#1
This is a list of inventors who made something that turned around and killed them (and maybe a few others too.) These guys should probably have saved the money they paid in patent fees.
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LeeN2ygLdBo[/ame]

#2 A few personal horror movie pics
The Audition - (this is not the FUNNY one) It deals with a chick & her meatsaw.
Henry, Portrait of a Serial Killer - this is the supposedly true story of Wayne Lucas who traveled the US killing people. You will never look at a suitcase the same way again.
Pick Me Up - This is a short TV 1 hour show that's part of the Masters of Horror Collection. Two serial killers collide one night and the "fun" starts.
Suspiria - this is an old movie (70's) that is so weird that it's creepy. The sound track is twice as weird and twice as creepy. A must see for horror fans.

#3 A little more creepy artwork (top two pics), last pic is a real photo.

...as I have included this particular piece of music in a previous Hallowe'en thread, but I just can't get over how effective and downright foreboding this one is.

'Title Music' from 1976's 'Burnt Offerings'.

Better keep an eye on that chauffeur...

Title theme from 'Cape Fear' by Bernard Herrmann

Did you check over your shoulder yet? What's that - you did?...

Also, here's an interesting theme from Wil Wheaton's 'The Curse' (1987)

Adamantoise,

I read your post on Cape Fear in the music Redux thread. I commented on it and didn't realize you had already mentioned the film here. I should have known that you had it under control. You had already covered the Robert Mitchum film here. I again bow to the Master of Murder trivia.

Thank you - you're too kind.

I found this one not long ago - it is pretty much an exerpt from one of my favourite pieces of music by Igor Stravinsky, composed by Don Peake.

1984's "The Prey" dir. Edwin S. Brown.
