The eggs shown below were made in the 1890's thru 1904 in Russia.
My favorite is the maroon egg with a yolk, chicken outside and a small portrait on an easel. This eggs was done for Tsar Nicholas and the picture in the frame is his son Nicholas II. Both were killed shortly after this egg was made. The Russian Revolution was merciless to the monarchy.
