They've been advertising this on Howard Stern for a while. Even he was reading the ad one day and just stopped and was like, "What the fuck? Is this for real?"

Anyway, I assume it's a horny guy/escort hookup service - maybe closeted gay men, too. I just don't see married or single women really wanting or needing this.

They also bought advertising during Larry King on CNN! Saw the ad last night, my jaw dropped open, then I went to my computer to look up the addy... couldn't believe it.

My head just spins. Please hold me. I'm shaking.

(And seriously annoyed that fat women have to be made the butt of a cruel public spectacle.)

Wow, I almost wrecked my car the first time I heard the ad for Ashley Madison on the radio. I think it would be totally awesome if the website was run by Joey Greco from the TV show Cheaters :D "And on this day, we logged in your husbands credit card number. And on this day...etc. etc. etc.

Hmmn. Their client list could be...useful. I wonder who's running it, and who has access to their databases?

Lol, as a single woman, it might be fun to go on there, pretending to be married so I could mess with some of them :p

But then again, who has time for crap like that :p

This dating site makes total sense to me. Their could be married people whose spouses don't share their kinks and they want to find like minded individuals and their could be single people who don't want to be attached to other people, but still want to have fun. It's the tragically funny side of human nature. Heck, why not? Give it a go. If that's what consenting adutls want to do with themselves, let em. If they're gonna cheat they're gonna cheat, so what difference does it make whether or not someone's provided a cheating service that the cheaters have to pay to use? I do think it should be exhibit A for the gay marriage defense tho. I think I have seen the commercial, and I remember being pissed that the wife was made to look unattractive especially if she was fat in the wedding pic....

It's tragically unfunny when the cheating spouse brings home a raging STD or the AIDS virus and infects his/her unsuspecting partner, though :(

That's true, but like I said, if a cheating spouse is going to cheat, what difference does it make if they use a dating site specifically for cheaters? I dunno, I know it probably sounds kinda messed up, but if I had a husband I suspected of cheating on me, I'd start to insist on using condoms (assuming a married couple wouldn't use them) or just have no sex at all.

You don't think facilitating the opportunity to cheat at least tenfold by providing numerous potential partners increases the number of cheaters? I think some who might be open to cheating are kept back by lack of availability, etc. Plus a website/tv commercial sanctions the activity, as in "look, so many others are doing it... there's even a commercial... it can't be that bad."

My ex girlfriend cheated on me twice...and I was foolish enough to try again after the first time...

Point being...I hate cheaters more than I hate broccoli...which is quite a bit!

Absolutely not. Lookit, cheaters have been cheating for as long as humans have been monogamous. There was a time before the internet you know. The responsibility is all on the cheaters and no one else. This is like saying, well if we let fat people have potato chips, they'll eat them and well we should hold potato chip makers responsible for why all fat people are fat. I love potato chips and I'll find a way to get them if I really want them.

I agree that the cheaters are the responsible party, no doubt about that. I'm saying that before the internet, it was likely much more difficult to search out a potential affair than, say, having a big list a click away and the media sanctioning it as well. The cheaters are still cheaters, but I think ease/perception play a role as well.

I dunno...my father cheated on my mother for years sans internet before they separated. It wasn't just one woman, but several. I couldn't understand where he was meeting all those women, but he managed to do it. The internet makes it easier to meet people, but you still have to make the effort to get to know them and/or meet them in person. And a man who wants to cheat can always just go to a prostitute if they're so inclined. I guess if you lived in a rural area the internet would make cheating easier, but I'd think in a place with so few people, it would be hard to keep it a secret...

I totally understand what you are saying. ALL dating sites (probably way back in the day when people used newspapers for personal ads, too!) have married people on them. The only difference is that this one is targeting their advertising towards married people. Doesn't make it any righter, but it doesn't really make it any wronger than craigslist or match or any other site either.

GUESS WHAT? if that's the case, then these people should NOT BE MARRIED.
