YAY! You found your kitty! :) I am so happy, I hadn't seen this thread until now and was so worried that Bob was still missing. *hugs* I don't know what I'd do if one of my kitties ran away :(

Yaaaaa. Good news on the Bobster! So glad he came back!

Now, a question. I am not a cat person - I'm a dog person. But they do have a few traits in common. How about getting Bob neutered in case he left the house that night looking for love?
He's already reutered :) I make sure all my cats are done as soon as they're old enough.

Thanks for the good wishes everyone :)

Praise God. That's fabulous news, Em. Was he in the bush you spotted a kitty in the other night?
I don't think he was actually, I don't think he strayed that far lol

Once again thanks everyone for the support when he was missing :)

So happy Bob is home Em! I just saw this thread. Sorry he went missing. My Step Mom has a kitty that loves to try and get out everytime we open the door.

Hooray! I'm glad he's back!

As my wife, Debz, stated in a previous post, when our cat, Salvador, disappeared we combed the neighborhood in a five block radius and put up flyers all to no avail. When we eventually found him he was holed up in the neighbor's shed behind our house. Cats may like to roam but generally seem to stay close to loved ones.

I'm glad this all turned out for the best!

I'm glad that Bob returned! Hopefully he now has a better sense of where he lives that he'll know how to return home from now on.

Thought I'd give a bit of an update.

I was a bit scared that he'd come back and be crying to go out all the time because he'd had lots of fun and didn't love us anymore. WRONG. He came back and was running around the room, back and forward between us all trying to get all the love in the world. He's been a very clingy kitty since he came back, which makes me happy because I've missed him so much so we've been spending a lot of time snuggled up with each other. I feel like I've been given another chance and I'm so very happy.

He came back very skinny, so I'm on a bit of a feeding mission at the moment. Little and often. He'll soon be back to his normal self too. He had two ticks on him, which we managed to remove whole after reading a guide on the internet (never had a cat with ticks before) but we're still sending him for a check up at the vets tonight.

The thing that makes me laugh is I'd been where he was found many many times over the 5 days he was gone. He must have been laying there too scared to respond. I'm glad he finally got brave enough to call out so we could find him.

Anyways thats enough from me, I'm just very happy to have my kitty back.

Yeah lol he was. Bless him. It's so nice to have him back sat on the TV. He always hangs down and tries to attack things on TV. It used to get on my nerves a bit, but I missed it whilst he was gone and now I'm happy to have him do it!

Good to hear the little one returned.

All of my cats came in from the outdoors originally, even the ones who came as kittens. I don't bother putting up missing signs anymore when one of them disappears. I chalk it up to the price of freedom. Cats tend to like their freedom, and depending on individual temperament, some will go walkabout for a while. It can be a day. It can be a month. They can adopt other humans, as my oldest cat did for nigh on a year until she moved away and he returned. There are of course a lot of dangers in the field, and I have just resigned myself that at least the cats who are with me really are wild animals, who will come into my life when they find me, and will sometimes disappear never to return, and sometimes curl up for the last time in the house.

One wild queen who kept avoiding us and having litters in the back yard had her third before I tricked her into coming far enough in the house to capture and get her spayed. That third litter in August had eight kittens by my count. They were near a side fence which was tipping over. I suspect when the neighbors repaired it, she moved them all. We didn't see them for a month. Only four returned, one died in our arms a couple months later, and possibly was the vector for a cat flu pandemic which infected almost all the others, which gave a few of them pink eye but fortunately didn't take down any of them. Such is the way in the jungle.
