Political hopes & wishes for 2017

Apart from this here Soap Box turning into a nice & frothy but clean discussion forum -
a non-exhaustive list of ideas that imo might do the world some good...

• No repeat of 2015 & 2016! Finally find effective measures against IS&Co terrorism!
• President Trump surprises the world with common sense approachs like he did in the question of the House Ethics Committee: Deal with the problems instead of going on a witch-hunt.
• Not waking up to Mme la Présidente Le Pen on a sunny May morning....
• If not peace for Syria, then at least a longer-term functioning armistice
• The US Democrats finally get their priorities straight...
• Wonder what to wish for Russia on the centennial of the October Revolution?
• Erdogan doesn't get his new, personal constitution
