Retail sizing

Question for anyone that can help. A couple of years ago a number of plus size retailers switched their pants/jeans sizing to single digits, can any help with explaining how they compare to the regular sizing? Looking for any and all stores but especially Lane Bryant and Catherine's.

For example - Lane Bryant 3, 4, 5 = what is this in normal sizes?
