The sisterhood of the Klondike Kates
I don't know if this sort of celebration is unique to Minnesota but it is a big part of the St. Paul Winter Carnival. Both the story and the pictures are precious. Sorry I can't give you a print version. It is too long to post and I can't find a link.
The 'Kates' have an organization and go out in the community for various event throughout the year. I think I'll invite them all to my 78th birthday party. I might have to get a bigger house or hold it in an auditorium.
I asked my wife about this - she said that I can do it, but may not.
