Can you give a little more detail and show what tabs you are using?

    Thank you so much! :D

I hate it and have a much better one I'd like to use. I love that you think I'm lovely, though.

Thanks again! I'd love to change it if I could.

    I'll see if this helps.

Starting on new posts screen (screenshot ....141845 )

Click and hold the green dot beside the "do y'all get enough sex?" Thread, then from the pop up menu choose "open in new tab"

Move to the new tab, and where I am at is as shown in the second screenshot (141957). From there I need to scroll up, starting at the bottom of the thread, and just manually figure out what is the first unread post.

I don’t see the green dot, but when I open it up in a new tab it does the same thing. But if Ijust click on the title it takes me to the correct place in the thread and marks which ones are new. I’m sure it is a function of opening up multiple tabs. I can see if the ADMIN knows anything about this

Dot? Grey dot? The dot to the left of the thread name, however you interpret the colour.

And agreed that doing it without opening in a new tab works fine. Usually I'm checking in, and looking at what has updated in the last 12, 24, 96, or whatever) hours, and the most convenient thing is to opro up each thread that I'm interested in, in a new tab. Saves always going back to the new posts tab and trying to remember which part I'd already picked through.

Here is where to find the famous dot

    upload_2018-8-8_11-8-31.png

For those wanting updates, Why not click on NEW POSTs at the top of the site. Then choose New Posts or Recent Posts.
One will show just new posts since your last visit, and Recent posts will include those you've seen and made, in the last few hours.
    I'd suggest trying them out.

If you use the New Post feature at the top. When you go back, you'll not see that read thread in New Posts, but will in Recent posts.

Yup, I'm using 'new posts' -- I just wish that the dot (or something) would actually go to the first unread post when opened as a new tab.

All the time that dot functions in the "go to first unread post" for me. I may have to check some stuff on your account to see if it's something on this side of the equation.
What method are you using to read the site. A Mack or Windows and what browser? Or a phone or tablet on mobile app?

This works absolutely fine for me, puts me and the first unread post (windows 10, google chrome). Are you trying to go to threads that have new posts or ones that don't? Do you get the same problem regardless of whether there are new posts or not?

Also, like the admin said, please tell us what you use in terms of computer/phone/windows etc.

As I said in my first post on this little annoyance, it is something I experience on my phone (works ok on a computer from what I recall, but I seldom get here except on my phone these days).

I'm using the mobile website, on an Android phone running pretty stock Android (a pretty recent release, but I don't remember the exact sweetness it was named after. Somewhere I found version listed as 8.0.0)

Eta: looked it up, 8.0.0 is Oreo. And I should mention that the page behavior, when I'm paying close attention is the it appears to go to the first unread post, but immediately moves to the bottt of the page before I can even look at the post. And as I said before, this is only when opening as a new tab, works properly when using the dot without opening as a new tab. Yes, it is a pretty narrow glitch!
