I think it would be interesting, for comparison's sake, to share this information -- and particularly so since we have an international community here.

Please tell us the year and make of your car, how much gas costs you per gallon or liter, how many gallons/liters it holds, and how much it costs for you to fill up your gas tank.

I have a 2002 PT Cruiser and live near Montreal Canada. Gas is about 1.19$ Canadian per liter here. I believe my tank holds about 15 gallons and it costs around $50 to fill up.

95 Octane = NZ$1.809/litre @ 3.785 litres/US Gallon = NZ$6.85/US Gallon @ 0.8025 NZD/USD = US$5.50/US gallon.

Costs over $100 to fill the car with approx 60 litres ( a 6 cylinder Nissan) on 91 Octane (NZ$1.749/litre) and around $90 to fill the diesel 4WD (excluding road taxes paid separately, a weird local anomaly).

Most infuriatingly, the oil companies recently hiked the prices again, citing increased distribution costs ie the price of fuel is going up because the transport costs are going up because the price of fuel is going up because the transport costs are going up because...

Hang 'em high, I say.

Ehh. Usually around $35.

But, for a Ford Contour? ...ridiculous. :p

I do quite a bit of driving, though...and compared to some others, I should probably stop complaining. :p

Well... lemme think...
60 liters... 1.40€/liter... = 84€...

1€ = 1.57$... 84x1.57= 131,88$

60 liters are about 16 Gallons...

approx 16 gallon tank

gas at $3.29/ gallon

about 50 dollars to fill up

If I can get highway miles, I at least get about 30 mpg, but my commute is short, and right now I get 23-25

I don't have a tank to fill up, but the gas station next door has the regular for $3.23/gal for the last week. I've seen it lower, at about $3.19/ gal near work.

2001 Mercury Sable, maybe 13 gallons? @ I think 3.19 gallon (I try not to look, plus I usually get .10/gallon off using my Kroger card), so about 35-40ish to fill up

Good ol' Upstate New York!
I have a 2004 Jeep Liberty.

Gas is heading towards $3.40 a gallon here but I usually trek a few extra miles and gas up at the stations owned by the Native Americans, which don't charge taxes.

25 bucks will fill half my tank, so I guess 50 bucks will fill it but I never fill it unless I'm on a long road trip or something like that.

we just filled up today since my son has a hearing appointment 90+ miles away from home tomorrow. We got like 12 1/2 gallons and paid $45.. that just hurts.. We try to do walking or biking whenever we can around town to NOT use the car. I remember when we bought this car i choked at the $25 to fill up way back when..

I haven't filled the tank on my Jeep Liberty since summer. I'd imagine it would be over $50 - gas here is 3.48/gallon. We're soooo getting ripped off.

2007 Toyota Tundra.

Fuel capacity 26.4 gallons.

Local price today $3.12/gal unless my Kroger discount is applied for stocking up on groceries.

I never let the tank get completely empty, but average fill-up around $60 by the time the gas pump idiot light comes on with about 6-7 gallons left.

I'm finding this really interesting. Thanks to those who are participating. I guess after reading some of these posts I'm not feeling *quite* so alone in what I'm spending (though I think iit's criminal that anyone should have to spend even half of what we do -- and especially those of you Europeans). Really, I'd rather have an electric car, or one whose exhaust smells like french fries. :D

And a rockin' truck it is, and very comfortable! I remember how much it cost you to fill up after taking me home, when you couldn't use bio-diesel. It was frightening. I'm guessing it normally costs you just under $35 to fill it up when you've got your good stuff from the still. :D
