Story from BUF May 1986

In the May 1986 issue of BUF Mgazine, there was a story entitled, " A Heavy Gain for Science".
I do not remember the author, nor have I ever seen it it online.

Does anyone have this story, or perhaps even the specific BUF issue? Or, if the author could please post it?
