    Realize versus Lapband brand bands

Not to proselytize, but have you looked into the sleeve? I had it done in Oct. I chose it in part because it is reportedly much easier to live (read: eat!) relatively normally afterwards. So far I love it!! I seriously think it will replace both the band and the bypass as the wls of choice in...

ACOG Guidelines for Pregnancy After WLS

Interesting theory - about the estrogen washing through you and making you EXTRA fertile. I'm not sure I believe that, though. I do think that many women (myself included) who choose WLS have PCOS and anecdotally, it appears that PCOS symptoms - including anovulation - improve dramatically...

bariatric surgery advice - for loved one

What I like about it is that people post their struggles and successes on the board, looking for support, sympathy, advice, etc. While it's definitely a rah-rah-rah wls kinda place, you can still get a realistic view of each surgery there.

    Relationships after WLS

TraciJo, Since I started this thread, I've had surgery and have lost over 100 lbs in less than 3 months. You mentioned that you know that you aren't your husband's physical ideal now. My bf and I are dealing with the same issue, especially since I plan to continue losing weight for awhile! I...

bariatric surgery advice - for loved one

A really good place (online) to ask these kinds of questions is obesityhelp.com. You can check out the boards for the different surgery types and find out what each is really like. Look me up! My sn is jenzers on there too and I frequent the vertical sleeve gastrectomy forum. My avatar...

    I wonder-

I just had WLS (sleeve gastrectomy) two weeks ago today. WLS success is measured by percentage of excess weight lost at various times (basically, losing then keeping it off!). Average EWL for the band is I believe 60% at 2 years. Average EWL for bypass and the sleeve is around 80% at 2 years...

    Relationships after WLS

Thanks so much, everyone who posted about their experiences and opinions. I really appreciate it. My SO and I have already started in counseling, and have really tried to start an open dialogue about the issues that come up. I'm postponing my surgery until November (long story), so we'll have...

    Relationships after WLS

Hi everyone, I am definitely not a regular poster and have never posted with this sn (it's been so long I forgot the old one!). But I have a question for the ladies who have had WLS who are in relationships with FAs. I've been with my boyfriend for almost three years, and we definitely are...
