If you don't already know about it, here's the dealio:

Conficker, also known as Downup, Downandup and Kido, is a computer worm that surfaced in October 2008 and targets the Microsoft Windows operating system. The worm exploits a known vulnerability in the Windows Server service used by Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7 Beta and Windows Server 2008 R2 Beta. The latest variant will begin checking for a payload to download on April 1, 2009. Experts have recently warned that Conficker will turn into an even more aggressive worm on April 1st (also know as April Fools Day), 2009.

Snopes has a good roundup, and links to a Microsoft page on how to protect yourself.

With the available virus software and advance warning, I'm thinking this is going to be much ado about nothing. But I suppose at some point, someone or something will take us by surprise.
