Big Moves presents....
TEA & STRUMPETS 2: a burlesque matinee and cake raffle
Saturday, March 29 * door at 1:30, show at 2 p.m.
Milky Way Lounge and Lanes, 403 Centre St., Jamaica Plain
Tickets: $12/adv (at http://www.bigmoves.org) or $15 at the door
(bring some ones to show the dancers some love!)
Burlesque and baked goods: two great tastes come together again at Tea & Strumpets Two, the return of Big Moves' all-star burlesque matinee and cake raffle. Here we have some of the hottest names in Bostons seething burlesque scene, including Johnny Blazes, Babes in Boinkland, and Black Cat Burlesque. Of course, Big Moves own Thick will be there with some fresh plus-size stylings, and our own emcee Ms. Deeds is holding the whole bag together.
There will be games galore (the lightning-fast clothing switch from last year was particularly popular). This year we're also adding the Human Dessert Buffet for an added slice of chocolate-dipped naughty! And off stage, audience members can scramble for offerings from local bakeries, including Bab-E-cakes, Blue Frog Bakery, Donna's Cakes, Fiore's, Flour Bakery, I Dream of Jeanne Cakes, and Kickass Cupcakes,
All proceeds go to benefit Big Moves' third season at the Montreal Fringe Festival, June 12-22, 2008. On the East Coast, Big Moves is a fiscally sponsored project of the Boston Dance Alliance, a 501(c)3 organization. For more information about Tea & Strumpets, the Montreal revival of Lard, and the various programs of Big Moves around North America, visit us online at http://www.bigmoves.org.
