The great white north, eh?
The next time someone is on about the obesity epidemic, and associated issues like kids with high cholesterol.....consider this: http://www.cbc.ca/news/health/story/2012/08/08/cholesterol-children-cdc.html

Basically, quite noticeably fewer American kids and teens have 'high' levels of bad cholesterol and average cholesterol levels also dropped. Note that this happened while obesity rates stayed the same. No proof, but the preferred theory seems to be that the drop is due to less consumption of trans-fats. Showing yet again that you can't just look at someone's waistline and know their health.
