The Los Angeles Times reports that immigrants commit fewer crimes -- fewer minor crimes and fewer violent crimes. In immigrant neighborhoods, crimes go down. Immigrants are shown to revitalize failing neighborhoods.

A sizable body of scientific research conducted by criminologists, sociologists and economists indicates that: Neighborhoods with more immigrants have lower rates of crime; an influx of immigrants has been shown to decrease crime; and that foreign-born individuals commit less crime than their U.S.-born peers."
"These patterns hold not just for minor offenses, but also for serious violent crimes. Some have suggested that immigrants may actually revitalize communities and lessen crime."
As for the Los Angeles Times as a source? It's owned by Tribune Publishing, which also publishes the famously conservative Chicago Tribune.
Its founder and first owner was an "unabashed capitalist and free-marketer," steadfastly opposing labor unions, the eight-hour work day, and child labor laws.
