Bah.. you'd think I would be working on the talk itself instead of trying to figure out a place to stay in NYC and to gather afterwards. Anyhoo.. onto the important stuff.
Thank you to everyone who posted and emailed me suggestions. I know my way around NY as well being I was born and raised in Yonkers, but not that specific area of NYC. A friend suggested I choose a hotel that has a fat friendly gathering area and work from there, so that is what I did.
I read up some things about NYC hotels that use priceline, star ratings and prices to input and sure enough.. my research worked out and I got the hotel I wanted. I chose this hotel because it has a bar lounge that has comfy looking couches that are fat friendly and because it is right at Grand Central Station for those NYers taking the train.
I figure folks can gather for a drink, a soda or just a chat. I know many people are on a budget, so I decided not to gather for a meal. BUT... a girl has to maintain her lovely figure eh? For those staying later I figure that NY Diners never close and well.. ya can't do NY without hitting up a diner! So I expect to follow up at one after or order in and those interested as welcome to join. Anyhoo.. will play it by ear
