Question. How do the younger folk (29 and younger) on this board feel about old movies? Not OLDER movies, but OLD movies as in anything before 1960.

About a year ago I pulled out one of the most entertaining movies of all time, "Dog Day Afternoon", and the 28-year-old friend I was showing it to said, "uuuuh...waitaminute. This movie looks like it's really old, like from the 70s. We're not going to watch this are we?".

And also I remember reading somewhere about how a lot of young people won't even consider seeing a movie if it's not in color regardless of how brilliant it is. I have to say the only thing that made me feel better was befriending this young quirky artist dude that has little interest in watching films newer than 1949.

Anyway, so what's the honest consensus of "old" movies.
