By shows that seem to have no idea what us fat folks actually weigh? Been rewatching the Sopranos (because I love it, wonderful deconstruction that it is) and I'm starting to wonder if Chase thinks fat has the same density as cotton candy.

The major one here is Ginny Sacrimoni (Denise Borino-Quinn), who's a pretty clear victim of the shitty pervasive diet culture (and equally clearly has an eating disorder but that's neither here nor there.) In one episode she gives her weight as 250 and my eyes just about rolled out of my head.

Bobby Baccalieri (Steve Schirripa), another frequent target of fatphobic jokes, at one point gives his weight as 260-something. The man is 6'2".

Now I know they both wore a fat suits for the roles, but come on. Do those numbers feel ridiculously low to anyone else? Are we supposed to just take it as a joke about fat people lying about the numbers?

What do y'all think? artworks-000601186393-e7kkv8-t500x500.jpgoi0mobb8x7vmv7b.jpg
