Over the past several years of occasional activity here, i’ve at times made disparaging, sometimes back-handed remarks regarding the anonymity and invisibility (at least to me) of the owners of this site. I’m personally uncomfortable with unknown figures in positions of power secretively running systems and organizations which affect me, hence my expressing my anxiety via these prior comments.
Recent life events have made it clear 1) how marginalized the fat appreciation community remains in mainstream society, 2) how dangerous it currently is for marginalized communities: leaders and participants both. I have a new-found understanding and appreciation why those in charge may have an array of compelling reasons for remaining anonymous, beyond personal taste or style.
I apologize to the owner(s) of this site for my past disparaging comments, and will not be making more of them going forward.
