The great white north, eh?
Hoping that Agouderia or others with insight to how things are going in Germany will respond.

So, the world of coalition governments is fairly odd to me, but apparently the junior partner in the current government, the SPD, recently changed their leader (and presumed candidate for chancellor come next election), and they and he are both polling well enough to make Merkel not a sure thing for re-election, for the first time in a long time. All while Merkel may be hitting more rebellion in her own party.

So, is the grand dame of the western alliance potentially on the way out, or is this just media needing something to talk about?

(in the interests of full disclosure: I quite admire her and am in no hurry to see her go, but at the same time I'm a big believer in changing one's government on a regular basis, and she has been chancellor for a long time. In short, I'm fairly torn about prospects of change in Germany right now)
