Not to steal any thunder from GEF's excellent thread, but a friend asked if I should post something in line with it given my penchant for knowing lots of useless, trivial, geeky stuff. 
I know I have many partners in crime on this board with similar 'gifts'; an endless font of knowledge about...nothing of particular importance or relevance (the self destruct sequence of the U.S.S. Enterprise comes to mind).
Anything is fair game: Personal, technical, philosophical, pop cultural, although I do admit complete ignorance in areas of sports or automotive repair. I can't promise a complete answer but will provide what I know. I used to do a ton of these Q&A things and made up a series of "laws" about them, but I lost my archive and couldn't find it online anywhere.
