There's an unusual candor about John Dennis that you don't often get from a politician who's running in one of the two major parties. But then again, a small businessman from New Jersey who grew up in a housing project can afford to be candid and honest when the media has marginalized him as a mere outlier against the most powerful person in congress, Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi.

He's not even a politician. In fact, Dennis had rarely engaged the political realm until the 2008 Presidential election, in which he actively campaigned for Republican party outcast, Ron Paul. This time around it's Paul helping out Dennis, who he has endorsed.

The question is: Can John Dennis be taken seriously as a Republican when he's running on an anti-war, pro-civil liberties, anti-corporatist, pro-marijuana platform? In Dennis' own formulation, it's the only way to seriously challenge Pelosi, whom he has characterized as a "blatant corporatist."

In this blog, I want to argue that despite running as a Republican, Dennis is essentially running on a pragmatic, progressive agenda that brings together the most salient issues across parties. Issue by issue, I will outline why liberals, as well as conservatives, should consider Dennis over Pelosi in San Francisco.

Huffington Post

Last year Gerald Celente predicted that a fusion between the Libertarian and Progressive movements was in the offing. THIS is the beginning of that and its hopefully going to gain steam. It would be the icing on a big old cake if that slitch Nancy Pelosi got knocked off her throne and thrown out of office by John Dennis.

To my 'liberal' friends on this board, PLEASE, consider that we are losing our freedom now at an accelerated pace. Obama did NOTHING to help you and has consistently continued the Bush and Clinton doctrines of increasing government surveillance of regular US citizens. The Surveillance-Police State is going to become a nearly unstoppable leviathan in the near future if we don't do something about it NOW.

To my 'conservative' friends on this board, PLEASE, consider the fact that the smaller government we want CANNOT come about if we continually fund wars of aggression and empower petty tyrants like those at the Department of Homeland Security. Making everything on God's Green Earth illegal, and therefore prosecutable, isn't freedom. People should be free to do as they see fit as long as they do not commit fraud or initiate force against another. That even means they should be free to make piss poor choices like using drugs.

To my 'Independent' friends on this board, PLEASE, consider the fact that you've been consistently lied to about damned near everything. Plenty of politicians with (D) and (R) next to their names will promise you the world while handing you a drek sandwich instead. Our country is disintegrating before our eyes. Anyone with half a brain-cell still intact will notice that inflation is already starting to kick in and the people who are hurt the most are those of us near the bottom (making 20k or less a year) and those AT the bottom. Something has to change and it sure as drek isn't being offered by most of the politicians in our country.
