I only caught the last 15 minutes of what seemed like an interesting Dateline last night. What I gathered was a beautiful formerly fat woman was murdered by her abusive husband who may or may not be an FA. Did anyone else watch?

Heather Palumbo Jones was killed by her estranged husband Chris Jones who was reportedly obsessive and controlling, and upset by his wife's major weight loss. He encouraged her to gain the weight back, showing up at her office with sweets and such. Her friends said if she hadn't lost the weight, she'd still be alive.

I can't find the full episode online, but here are clips: Dateline NBC
And other links to news stories: here and here.

Heather was a school teacher who seemed to be enjoying life for the first time in a long time and excited about a future without her abusive husband (the were in the midst of a divorce). They have two young children together. Such a tragedy. :(

I saw it and it was fascinating. They never really called him an out and out feeder, but he clearly was. She was encouraged by her friends to lose weight and lose him, only it didn't work out like that. He lost control of her, and then he got the ultimate revenge by murdering her and burning her body in the woods.

This is actually taking place where I live and has been in the news for sometime here.

That said, it does not appear to me that Chris Jones was an FA. Rather, he was just someone that wanted a partner that was submissive to his controlling behavior. He was someone that had a dominating nature, and not in a good way. As where I live is, in some respects, a small town, I've heard a few things about him. Apparently, he was always very denigrating about his wife's appearance, and would say nasty things about her weight. He was the first boy that had ever paid her any attention, and he knew she had very little self-esteem, so this allowed him to control her. It was not so much that she was moving away from being a BBW that drove him insane; rather, it was the fact that he was losing control that drove him to murder.

Either way, it is very tragic, and it is a very sad story.
