Long story, but 89 year old little peanut of a resident in the nursing home apparently only just noticed my femaleness even though I'v been leading a Sunday services there for months.
He pointed me toward 1 Timothy 3: 1-7 and in a voice shaking with passion said, "You .... are a disgrace to God!"
(He also takes issue with infnant baptism.]
I will stare care about him -- and care for him to the extent that he is open to receive that care.
