Like many of you, I received the "gift cheque" offer over email from Lane Bryant - buy $150, get $50 off. I was going to wait until their "Houston" pants were on sale (my favorite for work) but I figured I'd order them now with this offer.

Woe to those who do not read the teeny tiny fine print!

I bought two pairs of Houston pants, figured I'd try the new denim trouser pants, and then rounded out the order with panties to get it over $150. I placed the order but it would not take the promo code offered on the email. This has happened to me on a few sites - I've called customer service, they fix the final amount, everyone's happy.

I emailed LB customer service and got this return email:
"To assist you with your request, we recommend placing your order without the promotional discount. Once you have completed your order, send us an email confirming your order number and requesting that we process a credit for the promotional discount. Please accept our sincere apology for any inconvenience this situation may have caused."

I placed the order - still not able to use the promo discount. I emailed customer service with my order number. I was told that the offer wasn't good on any Right Fit items.

I promptly replied and requested they cancel my order.

This is the response I received:
"We would like nothing better than to accommodate your order request, since you are one of our valued customers. However, as an online business, we process orders at a very fast rate. We are unable to change or cancel an order once a customer "submits" the order. We regret any inconvenience this may cause."

So now, after doing as customer service instructed, I have to pay to ship back this order if I still want to cancel it.

Looks like no more LB online purchases for me.
