WOW. I am a Socialist not a Marxist. I am so sorry that political views got in the way of something that is not even remotely political. Great life and may you have a happy future.

Without getting into details, I am about as extreme anti-Trump as it gets, I’m pro-BLM and pro-ANTIFA, and I’ve participated in several protests these past few months. On Sunday I shopped at a local store with a trump-pence sign in the window. The owner, whom I known for years, is a fervent Trump supporter. We had a nice conversation, I bought my stuff and we wished each other a nice holiday. Trust me, I understand fighting for what you believe in, but do we have to stop interacting with each other completely? Let’s fight this on a political level, not a personal one. Please remember this election only has to tear us apart if we want it to.

It's gotten to a point where political and personal have become one and the same for a number of people.

I have jettisoned a few people from here from my Facebook because of their obsession with politics and bashing people over the head with their ideological sticks. It gets old after a point. When the majority of their contribution to your space is anger, venom and snark, why are they still there?

Politics is ALWAYS going to be figured in to the makeup of fat acceptance and Dimensions. As much as I would love to see it permanently stay in the background of this site, it never will. Even when Conrad owned the site, the board was overwhelmingly liberal by virtue of the number of posters who leaned that way plus the moderators at the time. All this in spite of the fact that Conrad was a Republican who wasn't terribly interested in discussing politics on a regular basis.

I don't see a political forum ever coming back here *fingers crossed* but that doesn't mean the politics of the world at large won't creep in to Dimensions.

Right, you guys are all well aware that there is no politic talk allowed so I'm closing this thread.

As for our stance on the BLM movement and politics in general, see here.
