I rebroach the idea of a PICNIC!

Since no one liked the idea of Pelham Bay Park, because of the walk involved, I have two alternatives:

1) Canarsie Pier - it's about a 1/3 of a mile from where the bus lets off. Usually, it's fairly empty. There is also a nice beach. Great place if you like birds, which I do. Downside - it's kind of far for a lot of folks.

2) Van Cortlandt Park. - the picnic area is right by the northern terminus of the #1 IRT...however, on weekends it is totally mobbed, and one would have to get there by 9 AM at the latest to be sure of getting a BBQ grill.

I'd love to turn you all on to my London Broil/mushroom concoction.

Let's make it happen!
