I confess. I am a sucker for food talk. But not just any food talk. The person needs to have passion. Their eyes need to be slightly glazed. There has to be something seductive about their words, their tone, their timing.

Yeah.

One chef comes to mind. I know lots of people dislike her, but me? I could listen to her all day. Alex Guarnaschelli (executive chef of Butter Restaurant, frequent judge on Chopped, and star of Alex's Day off and a couple of other shows from the past.) When she talks about the preparation of food she uses sweet analogies that are comforting and alluring at the same time.

And in another thread I mentioned a show that has me fixated - glued to the screen, waiting for every word. It's "The Best Thing I Ever Ate". OMG. The way the food celebs talk about their faves. Every one of them talks and it is like music to me. Well, no. More like a sexy R-rated movie. :wubu::blush::D

Anyone else drawn to the lilting tones of food talk? Find it seductive?
