~BBW, ~SWG - my high school search for true love and life in a small mountain town.

    Three Years

    Chapter 1, First Day

The van went up the hill, past the lumber king's office, pass the house that looked like a ship and up from the public pool. There sat Stevenson High, my new school, nested up on top of the mountainous Columbia River Gorge in Washington State. I stepped out of the van, kissed my grandmother who had been driving and looked around, I saw the Oregon side of the Gorge in the distance; it always looks more impressive than the Washington side, more trees, just looks impressive. I paused before entering, thinking "I haven't been to this school district since grade school; I haven't seen my friends in ages."

There was no turning back now. Inside was the hustle and bustle of a new year, students catching up with other friends, getting lockers, flirting and other things. I did the same. Things had changed in some ways. Travis was taller, more defined, deeper voice, but still basically the same.

I ran into Morrie, my first friend, we share the same birthday, haven't seen each other in years. Girls have developed. I wondered "Will I run into Katie?"

    Sure enough I do.

"My she has she grown," I thought to myself. I observed her big breasts, estimating them to be double Ds. I also looked at her round bottom and that carrot top hair of her's that looks so nice, as well as her round face, not fat, but so beautiful. I've loved her since grade school and probably always will.

Well, enough of what happened to begin this day. I know the drill. School is about to start and I'm expected to shift out of my private world into present time.

The bell rings and I hurry to where I will spend most of my day. The Resource Room. The Special Ed room. The place for troubled kids. Whatever you want to call it. Small room, four tables on each side. I sat next to a Mexican boy, one of the rare ethnicity of this area, it's either just whites, Native Americans, Mexicans, and the rare Asian. No blacks are classmates here save for, and I'm not kidding, the occasional token black, but he or she usually moves because many in this town are a bunch of racist hicks. Not that I'm racist or anything, I'm of Hispanic heritage myself.

More people entered, mostly redneck thugs, looking like they steal cars. Camouflaged by baseball caps they sit in the corner. They don't really belong in this class, but their grades are so poor they get shuffled in. Finally some females enter. One is short and chubby with a big butt and the other is tall and obese, wearing a black sweat suit.

The teacher enters and class begins, syllabus, general business and now we began to tell the class about ourselves. Mexican is named Matt, likes to play video games and watch wrestling. I like this guy. Small chubby girl is named Beth, likes to write.

I smell a lie. Big girl is named Brandy has a child. Dang, was almost into her. Hick 1 is named John, likes to hunt. Hick 2 is named Brian and also likes to hunt.

I guess it's my turn now. "My name is Max, I like comic books, professional wrestling, anime, and movies."

I sit down and listen to the teacher talk. I didn't say the reason I was in here. I have Autism and I am not normal.

And that fact grinds my soul. I do not understand social norms and social cues. I feel like a dog, it took me five years to understand body language. I have two classes in this class in a row, after that it's Spanish. Spanish is nice, the teacher is a family friend of ours.

A group of gothic anime nerd girls are in it, sweet. They are talking about Inuyasha. I hate Inuyasha and tell them that Inuyasha should eat Shippo. I have to spend three years with these girls, one of whom was my first crush. She has grown too. Other girl is small, has big boobs and looks pale, probably anemic.

I have lunch with Matt, he is friends with another old friend of mine, Ian, and a new friend I meet named Robbie. We sit in the library in the corner near the door in a circle around a round table. Home Room is the next and last class. It has a hippie teacher, an exotic Indian girl, Katie and Goth chick number 1, big hick girl, two delinquent hicks, a couple of airheads, my best friend since preschool, and me. I think "I'm going to like this class."

    (to be continued)

    i like it.

though i do take some offense to The Resource Room, being the place for troubled kids, since i spend three years of high school and two in middle school in it. (unless u mean troubled as in having a hard time learning, and needs help learning, then i don't have a prob with it)

We're not so different, you and I. This is sorta based on my real three years, names changed, but it's true, there were delinquents and teen mothers, as well as people like me with disabilities.

I don't usually comment on stories, but I must say that I really enjoy how this one is shaping up. Anime, autism, wg, a lot of good elements thrown into one story. I myself have a very mild form of such a disability, albeit mild. I wasn't in resource room in school, mind you, but I was in a self-contained class before middle school. Some of the kids are really sweet, but others are downright...disturbed...

    Keep it up! ^_^

Oh, and by the way, as awesome as Gendo Ikari is, Asuka kicks his ass! :p
