A "fatspiration" is a person in the media, or perhaps in real life, who, through their courageousness, has helped you become more comfortable being the person you are today. This need not necessarily be a person of size, but the tag makes more sense if it is.
My personal fatspiration is Dawn French, a Welsh comedienne best known for her role as Geraldine Granger on BBC's The Vicar of Dibley, and for her work with Jennifer Saunders (of Absolutely Fabulous) in the comedy duo French & Saunders. I love Dawn French because she's able to be funny, sexy, clever, and absolutely REAL all at once. She's shown me through example that fat does not mean ugly, stupid, or undesirable; it's the person underneath that will always shine through. And, she was definitely one of those "When I grow up, I want to be HER" people for me as a child.
