Today I was listening to Marketplace on NPR, and there was an interesting study presented which indicates that one's financial net worth is inversely proportionate to one's Body Mass Index.
For anyone who has ever been subject to discrimination and ridicule for their size, this isn't news. But it is sobering and depressing that there is still such a long way to go before your waist size and your worth as a human being aren't seen as being inextricably linked.
The report made me sad and angry.
Did anyone else hear this? Thoughts, comments, rants?
