Have any women here participated in them, whether as a child or teen or maybe even an adult? How do you feel about them? Would you allow your children to participate in them? Are they harmful or helpful for one's self-view/esteem?
I've never been in one, so I only have knowledge (admittedly, lacking) of them from what I see on tv. I'm interested to know if they are as cut throat as they look on the screen. I know a girl/woman can win plenty of cash prizes, trips, scholarships, etc. Anyone have any birdseye views/opinions?
