Okay...so I think there was a thread about this, but I can't find it.

I am continually frustrated going to thrift stores, because while I like the idea of sharing clothes and passing them around instead of always having to buy brand-new garments, and I like finding cheap deals on interesting clothing items, it's super frustrating to sort through 1,000 items to see the 4 items in my size in the entire store, which will usually be ugly.

So I'm trying to figure out alternatives to this, and wondering how they worked for people.

One thing I'm wondering is if anyone ever talked to owners/managers of thrift stores to see if they'd be willing to create a rack specifically for plus-sized clothes. I've seen this only once, but it was AWESOME. I've even thought about suggesting this to a manager, and also volunteering to go through all the clothes in the store to separate out the plus-sized ones, with the understanding that as new ones came in they'd be put in that section.

Also, have people done plus-sized clothing swaps in your area? How did you organize it, and advertise it, and what size did you start with?

What else have people done to find plus-sized used clothes?
