All right so I've been on this board for years, never really posted. Anyway, here's something that's been bothering me for a bit. I don't really know how to phrase it, so bear with me as I try and preface it a bit so that it might make more sense.
Liking bigger girls is something that I'm still sort of acclimating to. I knew from a young age that liking, to put it bluntly, fat (yeah I still think of it as a dirty word) women was anything but the norm. Anyway, this was all evident because I, like almost everyone else on the face of the planet was inundated with messages by the media that super skinny women are "super models" and anything but that is disgusting. It's no surprise to me then that there are entire communities online in which women can discuss issues about being large, and men can declare their admiration for such women. This much I understand.
What I have a problem with understanding is the whole BHM/FFA type deal. I've often been told by girls that it's "just not fair" because "men are allowed to be fat." To an extent, this much is true. Men are not nearly pressured as much by society to have a certain figure, in my opinion. However, this is by no means saying that men are immune to such pressures. Walking into a number of girls' rooms and seeing that same damn david beckham poster with his shirt off really makes me question my desirability. Go to Abercrombie and Fitch and while the girls in all the black and white photos are undoubtedly size zeros, it's not like they are side-by-side with chubby dudes. So what's my point...
I don't deny that there are women who care for a larger sized man, but I think my question is: do women need to specify their tastes as much as men do in the sense that they deliberately state their attraction for such? Additionally, do women place as much emphasis on body type as men? Could this possibly explain the rationale that "guys are allowed to be fat?"
Sort of a thinking/questioning type post. Maybe people will have some decent input to help give me some perspective.
