They're somewhat alike, aren't they? Although very bright people don't face the kind of venom fat people do, they nevertheless have to live in a very suspicious, anti-intellectual culture. And since I've never encountered as much intelligence in one place as on these boards, I'd like to ask about your experiences: do you find, as a bright individual, that you are continually trying to fit yourself into a mental world designed for smaller people? Do you find yourself trying to disguise or downplay your intelligence in order to fit in? Does being above average mentally make you an outsider the way being larger than average makes you an outsider physically, and is that one reason you keep coming back to these boards?
