Why did evolution leave us with hairy armpits? I mean, legs and arms, I understand. We lose a lot of body warmth through those extremities, and it makes sense to cover them for warmth.... but why armpits? I mean, I'm sure that humans could lose lots of heat through your armpits, but wouldn't it stand to reason that, since that area is generally covering itself, then it does not need another external cover. That is, of course, unless you constantly have your arms above your head, then you might need that hair.



Weird thought, I know, but when you spend your days with kids, your thought processes tend to veer off track.
