Ok, so I'm all about WLS if that's what someone wants. It's your body, your decision.

However.....here's my story:

I went to the Dr. today and was totally ready for the "I just want you to be healthy, you need to lose weight speech." I understand this, I really should lose weight, honestly because of genetic reasons, this, I know, but what really bothered me today is that before my Dr. even asked about how I was or what my daily routine was she said "Have you heard about the new lap band surgery?" And then, as if to make it seem better she says "I would never have mentioned the old ones, but the new surgery is really good." Ok, I understand, I'm a fatty and that's not healthy...in her eyes, so let's fix it. But whatever happened to the tried and true methods of exercise and a healthy diet? Has WLS become so common place that people doctor's jump right to the conclusion...."oh, well she's fat, she needs surgery."

And yes, I am going to switch doctors because obviously she doesn't have the time to talk to her patients about their lives and their bodies - only enough time to write on her little Rx pat, but I was just so FRUSTRATED after that!!!! Ahhhhh!!

Just had to vent.....
