Hi all, I am a 50 y/o male, 250lbs and brand new to gaining. I've always wanted to be a big guy and finally decided to give in and gain some serious amount of weight. Right now, my fantasy weight would be about 425. I realize that it will take some time to get to that weight.

I need some ideas on how to figure out my weight gain goals. A friend of mine suggested trying to gain 2lbs a month which would mean 7 years which seems glacial to me. I've also heard stories of guys packing on 100lbs in a year but I'm not sure that instant to put my body through such a quick and radical change.

So what's a good weight gain goal? If you are maintaining, how did you all get to the weight you wanted to be? What's a reasonable amount of time to add 175lbs to my frame? Thanks.
