Hey folks, the Les Man has a rather bad problem. My sweetheart of three wonderful years Ava can't come to my house because she's allergic to my cat Marbles. I used to have two cats but Jerry had to be put down, but Ava always knew it was Marbles, the longer haired cat, that she was allergic to. She suffers pretty bad when she's here. She used to come over and spend nights here but I guess it's gotten worse for her. She has her own cat but surprisingly she's not allergic at all to her. I've tried using those cat allergy wipes on Marbles but I don't think that's help at all.

Has anyone had any success with allergy shots? Supposedly they've improved greatly in the last decade and it doesn't involved hundreds of shots over the course of a year. Is there a shot that can be administered to Marbles himself? I guess I'm basically asking if anyone has any success stories in overcoming their cat allergies. I've had Marbles for 13 years and he's far and above the greatest kitty I've ever shared my life with (and I've had lots o' cats in my life). But I deeply love Ava and this situation is causing major problems in our relationship. I just can't imagine removing Marbs from his home, but I also can't imagine not being able to share my life with Ava. I know there's a lot of people out there saying "It's only a cat! Get rid of it!", but there's such an incredible connection between Marbs and I and it's been that way since I got him as a baby. And obviously there's a deep bond between Ava and I.

*sigh*...it's just really hard. I'm such a nerd sometimes. LOL

A million thanks in advance for any help.
