It was coming up to his sons 13th birthday, he said to his boy 'son what do you want for your birthday, you can have anything you want, anything in the world' his son thought about it and said he would like a plastic parrot for his birthday, his dad asked if he was sure and went ahead to buy the parrot. A week later the father went into the sons room to find the plastic parrot was gone, he thought nothing of it and didnt ask his son about it.

The following year when his sons birthday came around again, the father asked him what he wanted, he told him he could have anything in the world, just like before, but the son asked for a box of 6 plastic parrots, so his father went ahead and bought the parrots, and one week later when he went into his sons room, the parrots were gone. His father thought nothing of it and didnt ask his son about it.

The following year when his sons 15th birthday came around, the father told him he could have anything in the world for his birthday, the son asked for 24 plastic parrots, and the father bought them. A week later the parrots had gone from his sons room, the father thought nothing of it.

It was his 16th birthday and his father told him once again he could have anything in the world, his son this time asked for 100 plastic parrots. His father been the nice guy he was bought him the parrots and one week later they had all vanished from his sons room, this time he got suspicious.

When it came around to his sons 17th he once again asked his son what he would like, he once again told him he could have anything he desired, and his son once again asked for plastic parrots, this time though, he asked for a factory full of them. One week after the father bought his son thousands of plastic parrots, they had all vanished from his sons room, this time the father thought, im going to ask him what he has been doing with them. Sat at home waiting for his son to come home from school, the father received a phone call 'your son is in a critical condition, he has been rushed to hospital, he has been in a motorcycle accident' his father rushed to the hospital to check on his son, when he got there he found him laying on a bed, barely alive, he asked whether his son was ok and then said 'son, i know this isnt the best time to ask, but what have you been doing with all them plastic parrots over the years?' his son sat up a bit and said 'well...'

and then he died.
