I have watched a number of videos on-line recently concerning the alledged police brutality and Occupy Wall Street movement. The first ting I want to say is that I don't have the regs or SOPS of those police departments at my disposal so I can't be certain of there procedures.

I believe that there have been instances of an unwarranted level of police force that does not meet the standard of response for such an action. The best example is a police officer spraying pepper spray into at a woman who was just being resistant passive as opposed to resistant active. This action would not be tolerated at the federal level however I do not know the SOPS of the departments involved.

However the majority of claims of police brutality have been false. If I as a military cop tell a civilian on base to do something and its a clear concise order that is justified (Public safety is justifiable and the police are corret in using that as there justification) then that order must be followed. For example "Sir get back" if the person does not I have the right at the lowest level to handcuff that individual. The next level up resistant passive (Where most of the protesters fall into) I hae the right to use wrist and elbow techniques to make the individual comply. At anytime a suspect does not comply I will take them to the ground for safety reasons.

Again I want to say that I do believe that there are cases of police miss using there authority however I don't think its as bad as its being made out to be, the police seem to be justified in there actions based on Case Law in most instances.
