Found this while doing some research on hypothermia-

"An individuals rate of body cooling is governed by the difference between heat loss and heat production, and this in turn is influenced by the size of body habitus and body fat thickness. Body fat has long been associated with the cooling rate and the overall body size is an imprtant factor in controlling the cooling rate of the individual. Because fat is an effective thermal insulator, the thicker the subcutaneous fat layer, the better the preservation of body heat"

So- if fuel prices are up, the solution is simple- Do your patrotic duty!

Pack on a few pounds, then turn down the thermostat!
