With Thanksgiving coming up, does your family have an unusual dish that is served? Something that was created by accident, and has stuck? Or something that is an old family tradition, but you've never seen anywhere else, or no one you know prepares it??
My own family is of Italian heritage and our meal is centered around some type of pasta...usually stuffed shells, manicotti or lasagna. A huge bowl of meatballs as well. The turkey is considered a side dish for us. We don't have potatoes or cranberry sauce. We have stuffing and gravy, usually a vegetable and salad, but that's it. Nothing else. We've tried all the other side dishes (potatoes, cranberries, candied yams...etc) but no one eats them...we were throwing them away a few days later.
So I guess for us, it would be that the pasta is our main dish, would be the unusual thing.
Anyone else have an interesting story???
