Yes, in a science fiction short story of many years ago, unfortunately I forgot both author and title. It was published in an issue of the magazine Galaxy in early Sixties, probably between 1963 and 1965.
In the story Earth is invaded and conquered by aliens from another solar system who are 100% human and also FAs, because in their culture BBWs are the paragon of feminine beauty. Earth BBWs, taking advantage of the admiration aliens have for them, organize a clandestine resistance movement that in a short time succeeds in rising and defeating the alien invaders. I remember the name of two of the BBWs, Helen Krauss and Margo Day. The whole story is told by one of the defeated alien officers.
I wonder if the author wasn't a FA, because at a certain point there is the description of a plain and uninteresting girl who, at the end of the story, is revealed to be miss universe of the previous year.
Did anyone else read the story? Does anyone remember title and author? Maybe Ned Sonntag, who should be approximately my age and I'm sure likes science fiction?
BTW, this is also my 100th post
