My mom bought me a sewing machine for me for Christmas. I don't know what I was thinking but I figured I could manage to make a few things for myself and some others as well.

I know there have been threads on patterns and such in the past and I've looked at some of them. When I was at the store today I looked through the Butterick Patterns by Connie Crawford which seemed to be the biggest selection of patterns for us big gals.

Here's my beef though - what's with all the slants, major pleats, and layers? Isn't there any nice simple skirt pattern that is even in front and back? Doesn't seem like much to ask.

If any of you have helpful websites to direct me to I would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
