Ladies, your opinion?

Ok, I've found this gorgeous dress on eBay, and I'm considering buying it. However, my sister thinks it looks too much like a wedding dress and suggested that I don't buy it because of that.

I would be wearing this dress out for a nice dinner (fine dining) with my fellow. What is your opinion on the dress? Too weddingish looking or not? And what kind of shoes would you pair this dress with (Sammie...I need feedback).
